Weather-Related Delays

The Mercer County Campus is on a 2-hour delayed scheduled today, February 8, 2010.

And the start date for Saturday classes has been postponed from Saturday, February 6, 2010 to Saturday, February 13, 2010.

College Goal Sunday

The Greenbrier Valley Campus will be a site for the first-ever statewide College Goal Sunday on Feb. 21.  Financial aid professionals will be providing FREE, line-by-line help to students and parents in completing their federal financial aid application.  The event will take place from 1-5 p.m. in the Student Lounge and Hollowell Auditorium on the campus located at 101 Church Street in Lewisburg.  The Public Higher Education in Beaver also will be a site.  Learn more about other College Goal Sunday locations across the state at www.collegegoalsundaywv.org

Alert System

If you haven't yet registered for the College's Alert Messaging System, we strongly encourage you to do so.  Once you've registered you'll receive any emergency messages directly on your cell phone (or as an email if you prefer that).  Weather-related closings are communicated this way.  The link for the Alert Messaging System is: http://web.newriver.edu/alerts/index.html

The Spring 2010 term (201002) course schedule is now available as a link so that you may query and obtain the latest information for on your own.

New Phone System and Some New Phone Numbers

New River recently implemented an entirely new phone system at each of our six campus locations. A few of our phone numbers were changed as part of this project, so please check the People Search directory for the most accurate and timely information. Probably the most significant phone number change is the main campus in Beckley which is now 304-929-5450 or toll free 866-349-3739.

Virtual Bookstore (more info)

New River has implemented a "virtual bookstore" in an effort to improve this service for students. Rather than waiting in line at one of our five campus locations, students will be able to browse, select, and order books online and they will be shipped to your home address within 2 days to 3 weeks (depending on the shipping method selected).
