1English 101 Composition (3-0-3). Pre-requisite: ACT Reading Main score of 17 or “Sin ENGL 098 or COMPASS Reading score of 75 or above and ACT English Main score of 18 or“S” in ENGL 099 or COMPASS Writing score of 70 or above and Competent writing sample or diagnostic theme.

2Biology 231 Human Anatomy and Physiology I (3-0-3). Pre-requisite: Eligibility for enrollment in English 101, high school Biology, Biology 101 or consent of instructor. Co-requisite: BIOL 233.

3English 102 Research (3-0-3). Pre-requisite: C orhigher in ENGL 101 or CLEP score of 500 or higher or advanced placement waiving ENGL 101 and C or higher in ENGL 100 or ACT English mechanics/usage sub test score of 9 or higher or COMPASS Writing Diagnostics test score of 76% or higher.

4Biology 232 Human Anatomy and Physiology II (3-0-3). Pre-requisite: BIOL 231, BIOL 233. CO-requisite: BIOL 234.

 

5Biology 205 Kinesiology (3-0-3).

Pre-requisite: C or higher in BIOL 231 and BIOL 233 CR:  BIOL 206.

Technical Phase Courses:Students applying to the PTA program must complete all pre-requisite courses with a grade of C or better and an overall GPAof at least 2.75 for all college-level work. Acceptance to New River and meeting of program admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
