Critical Care Transport

The Critical Care Transport Course was designed for the Paramedic and Registered Nurse. In this course, the student will obtain additional knowledge and skills to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate an impression and implement and/or continue management plans for the critical patient during transfers between hospitals, specialty referral centers and extended care facilities.

Applications are being accepted for the Critical Care Transport Course at the Raleigh County Campus in collaboration with HealthNet Aeromedical Services. Classes will be held on Fridays beginning January 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a 12-week course costing $850.Students must be a Registered Nurse or Certified Paramedic to enroll.  For further information, contact Paula Johnson at 304-883-2450 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Rely on multiple methods of communication regarding the College’s Inclement Weather decisions. The Alert Messaging System is one method of sharing information (New River CTC’s portal, email and text messaging). Other methods include posting here, on official College social media channels (Facebook and Twitter), campus weather lines and messages sent to local television and radio stations.
