Arts Management AFA

The Associate of Fine Arts degree track in Arts Management is designed to fulfill the rapidly expanding need for professionally trained arts managers in New River's service area created by the shift in the market environment from an extractive resources-based economy to a cultural tourism-based one. The curriculum is career-oriented and designed to provide academic training arts management. Students acquire knowledge of various arts management and non-profit-related areas, including grant writing and administration, volunteer management, gallery management, fundraising, and marketing. Students also gain basic arts-related skills and basic computer skills that will assist them in non-profit managerial decision-making. Positions available include non-profit managers, development and marketing staff, department head, office and gallery managers, grant writers, and grant administrators.
