Student Orientation 2013


Orientation sessions give you a head start on life at New River by providing information on student services, computer services, student organizations and other important information that will make life easier for you once classes start.

New students are required to attend an orientation session. Newly enrolled students will receive a postcard with further information and are asked to confirm attendance to participate. We look forward to seeing our new students at orientation and welcoming them to our New River family!

Here are the dates and locations of orientation sessions:

Greenbrier Valley Campus, Lewisburg
Thursday, August, 1 or Monday, August 5

Nicholas County Campus, Summersville
Wednesday, July, 31 or Tuesday August 6

Beckley Campus
Thursday, August 8 or Monday, August 12

All sessions are offered at the following times:
8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Student Orientation 2012

All full-time and part-time students who will be attending New River Community and Technical College for the first time this fall (including transfer students and students who are new this summer and will be continuing in the fall) are required to attend a new student orientation session at one of the college's campuses this summer. Each student may bring one guest.

There will be morning and evening sessions on each orientation date. Students only need to attend one session. Students attending a morning session will sign in between 8:30 and 9:10 a.m. Orientation will begin at 9:15 and end at 12:30 p.m. Those attending evening sessions will sign in between 2:30 and 3:10 p.m. Orientation will be from 3:15-6:30 p.m. Lunch or dinner will be provided.

Preregistration is required, as seating will be limited. Students can register by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Include your name; orientation date, time and location of your choice; whether you will be bringing a guest; and a phone number where you may be reached during the day.

Electronic 1098T

If you would like to receive your 2012 1098T Tuition Statement Tax Form electronically, please use the link below and follow the step by step instructions in order to give your consent. This must be completed before January 4, 2013.

If you choose to receive a paper copy of your 1098T Tuition Statement Tax Form, simply do nothing.

To give consent to receive your 1098T from electronically, follow these simple instructions:

Step 2: Signup for Electronic Tax Documents by entering your Student ID#, Name, and Email Address (with the option to include an alternate email address). ECSI's website is a secure website and ECSI will not share your private information with anyone. This email is strictly sent to gather your consent for receiving an electronic 1098T Form.

Step 3: Read information, check box and click submit.
