The West Virginia EDGE initiative allows students to take high school courses for community and technical college credit. Students who take the EDGE courses available in high school or at a Career and Technical Center could earn an Associate Degree earlier. After applying to New River, students who have potential EDGE credit should request an EDGE transcript online by clicking here and completing the online transcript request. If you are unsure if your specific class was EDGE compatible, please contact your high school or career and technical school attended for verification by speaking with the EDGE coordinator.
Once the EDGE transcript has been requested, it will be sent directly to the Registrar's office of the school selected. The process may take up to 2 weeks. Please inform the Office of Admissions of the EDGE transcript and when the transcript was requested when scheduling an appointment for class registration.
EDGE credit will only be posted to your college transcript once you have successfully completed credit hours with New River. You may speak with the Registrar's Office to follow up on applicable credit received.
