Raleigh County Campus

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the New River Community and Technical College's Raleigh County Campus! Our campus is made of up three locations. The main campus, located just off of I-64 East exit 125B features classrooms, computer labs, Interactive Video Network (IVN) classrooms, and the Central Administrative offices. The Advanced Technology Center in Ghent provides a variety of customized workforce development programs and solutions to address the training and human resource needs of employers within the College's designated service area. The Educational Center for Rehabilitation Services located in the heart of Uptown Beckley offers classroom and lab space for multiple medical programs including Physical Therapy Assistant and Medical Assisting.

We will strive to provide you with a learning environment that is challenging, yet supportive of your personal interests and needs. We want you to succeed while you are here, and equally important, we want to prepare you for your life and the world of work.

You will find our faculty, staff, and administration ready to help you through your college experience. This, coupled with an emphasis on building competencies through hands-on experience, will better prepare you to "hit the ground running" when you gain employment following graduation.

Advanced Technology Center

 

Welcome to the Advanced Technology Center located in Ghent, WV. The Center provides a variety of customized workforce development programs and solutions to address the training and human resource needs of employers within the College's designated service area. Workforce Education partners with businesses and agencies throughout the region to deliver programs ranging from sector-driven skills training to community education courses in subjects ranging from beekeeping to web design. Both credit and non-credit programs are provided.

The 93,000 square foot Advanced Technology Center, dedicated in October, 2010, is being used to train workers for 12 key industry segments - mining and energy, weatherization, hospitality and leisure, green buildings systems, manufacturing, line service mechanic, HVAC, CDL, heavy equipment operator, welding and pipe welding, horticulture/landscaping, automotive and diesel technology, and GIS-surveying. The facility also promotes entrepreneurialism and serves as an incubator for business development and acceleration.

Services for Students with Disabilities (ADA)

New River Community and Technical College offers various accommodations and services for students with disabilities. Students must self-identify, by completing an application for accommodation(s). The provision of accommodations will be contingent upon appropriate documentation of a disability. In addition, services will be contingent upon availability of resources associated with said service. 

In order to receive accommodations each semester, students should contact the Educational Counselor on their campus regarding the documentation needed for consideration.  Students must meet with the ADA Coordinator and Educational Counselor as part of the process.
