Center for Teaching Excellence

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) serves faculty from all New River campuses with training, workshops, equipment, and expertise in support of the design and development of distance and traditional education.

The CTE includes a state-of-the-art Faculty Resource Center, which features two dual-quad core computer workstations (one Windows and one Mac). Intended for high-end, distance-learning media creation, the workstations include the Adobe E-Learning Suite, Camtasia and Microsoft Office Professional, as well as other audiovisual, multimedia and graphics software applications. The center also has hardware, such as HD video cameras, digital voice recorders, and digital still cameras available for short-term loan to faculty (loan request form).

The CTE supports faculty in their use of all learning technologies, including one-computer classrooms, videoconferencing, Blackboard Learn 9, Blackboard IM, Brainfuse, and Lynda Campus.

Extensive information related to training and other news and information is now available to instructors after they login to the New River portal.
