Available Scholarships

New River CTC Foundation has scholarships available for the Fall 2015/Spring 2016 semesters. Scholarships are available to new and current students.  Applicants must have applied to New River CTC and plan to attend classes at one of the colleges locations (Greenbrier Valley, Mercer, Nicholas, Raleigh, and the Advanced Technology Center - Ghent).  

Completed applications are due on Monday, July 27, 2015

Application Instructions

Please read the instructions before beginning the application process.

  1. Complete each section of the application entirely.  If a question does not apply to you, write "N/A" in the provided space.
  2. Upload a one-typewritten page statement discussing the importance of continuing your education and the role your degree/certificate will play in helping you achieve your goals.
  3. If you are applying for a scholarship with an "Essay Requirement", upload the typewritten essay(s).
  4. Upload a copy of your most recent high school or college transcript.
  5. Upload two letters of recommendation.  Letters of recommendation must indicate the references address, phone number, and capacity in which they know you.  
    • ONE LETTER from a teacher, professor or administrator (principal, counselor, or dean).
    • ONE LETTER from a professional resource or community/civic organization (supervisor, scout leader, pastor, public servant).
    • Letters must be obtained from individuals who are not your relatives.
    • Letters of recommendation may also be mailed to the Foundation's office, must be be received (not postmarked) by Monday, July 27, 2015 to: Attn: Scholarships, New River CTC Foundation, 280 University Dr., Beaver, WV 25813

New River CTC is offering online Winter Session courses from Dec. 21 through Jan. 15.  Earn three credit hours in four weeks - courses in English, History, Math, Political Science, Humanities and Psychology.  Pre-register by Dec. 18.  For more information, call 1-866-349-3739.
