Campus-wide Scholarships

J. Leroy Spring Scholarship

The J. Leroy Spring Scholarship is endowed by former New River President Dr. Ted and Andrea Spring in honor of his uncle J. Leroy Spring.  The scholarship is award to students across all campuses. 

Carolyn Browning Social Services Scholarship

The Carolyn Browning Social Services Scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Carolyn Browning, an Associate Professor at New River Community and Technical College.  

Thomas W. Sizemore Mountain State Hands-On Medical Assisting Scholarship

The Thomas W. Sizemore Mountain State Hands-On Medical Assisting Scholarship was established to assist students pursuing a degree in Medical Assisting. This scholarship is awards to students across all campuses

 

Raleigh County Campus Scholarships

Bickey Family-Advanced Technology Center Scholarship 

The Advanced Technology Center Scholarship was established by Dan, Cynthia, and Matt Bickey to assist students developing technical skills to enter the job market.

Carter Family Foundation Scholarship

The Carter Family Foundation Scholarships were established to assist students attending New River Community and Technical College's Beckley and Advanced Technology Center campuses.  There are multiple scholarships available pending funding from the Carter Family Foundation.

Student Government Association Scholarship

The Student Government Association Scholarship was established to assist students attending New River Community and Technical College's Beckley Campus who have demonstrated leadership skills.

George and Helen Aide Scholarship

The George and Helen Aide Scholarship was established to assist students attending New River Community and Technical College. 

Veronica Blanton Nursing Scholarship

The Veronica Blanton Nursing Scholarship is endowed by the Alicia McCormick Memorial fund as a memorial to Veronica Blanton. 

Joan C. Browning Community Service Scholarship

The Joan C. Browning Community Service Scholarship was established to award students who have engaged in volunteer service to their community in the Greenbrier Valley. 

Judy D. Campbell Scholarship

The Judy D. Campbell Scholarship is endowed by Michael G. Campbell and was established to assist students who are residents of Greenbrier, Monroe or Pocahontas counties. 

Greg Carter Greenbrier Hometown Hero Scholarship

The Greg Carter Greenbrier Hometown Hero Scholarship is endowed by Roger and Phyllis Boone as a memorial to Fairlea Volunteer Fireman, Greg Scott Carter. 

Gail C. Collins Memorial Scholarship

The Gail C. Collins Memorial Scholarship was established by Catherine and Victor Jost and friends of Gail C. Collins. 

D. Reginald and Nelle C. Dixon Scholarship

The D. Reginald and Nelle C. Dixon Scholarship endowed to support and aid students pursuing a career in fine arts, business, and the hospitality industry.

Benjamin Fort Teacher Scholarship

The Benjamin Fort Teacher Scholarship is endowed by Dr. and Mrs. Kyle F. Fort in honor of Dr. Fort's father in an effort to encourage and enable students who aspire to teaching careers. 

Madlyn E. Fort Health Sciences Scholarship

The Madlyn E. Fort Health Sciences Scholarships were established by Dr. and Mrs. Kyle F. Fort as memorials to his mother, Madlyn E. Fort. These scholarships are awarded to recent high school graduates or adult students admitted to an accredited course of study in health sciences. 

Jeanne and Lawson Hamilton Scholarship

The Jeanne and Lawson Hamilton Scholarship was established to assist students attending New River Community and Technical College. 

Herkness Mathematics Scholarship

The Herkness Mathematics Scholarship was endowed by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Herkness to assist students studying mathematics curriculum. 

Hollowell Foundation Scholarships

The Hollowell Scholarships were established by the Board of Directors of the Hollowell Foundation to promote and enhance the quality of life for citizens of the Greenbrier Valley. 

Babe and Sidney Louis Hyatt Scholarships

The Babe and Sidney Louis Hyatt Scholarships were established for students who share the Hyatt brothers' interests, which included agriculture, business, religious fidelity, reading, respect for family and community traditions, and self improvement. 

Helen Virginia Chadwick Irons Scholarship

The Helen Virginia Chadwick Irons Scholarship was endowed by Kate Fife, Thomas Greenstreet and Virginia Wilson in honor of their grandmother to assist a female student attending New River Community and Technical College. 

Mary Louise & Jim Kilcollin Scholarship

The Mary Louise and Jim Kilcollin Scholarship is endowed by Dr. and Mrs. Mark C. Kilcollin in memory of Dr. Kilcollin's parents. 

Richard and Ann Kline Scholarship

The Ann and Richard Kline scholarship was established by Dr. and Mrs. Richard Kline to assist a student attending New River Community and Technical College. 

Edward D. Knight, Jr. Scholarship

The Edward D. Knight, Jr. Scholarship was established by Mrs. E.D. Knight, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Knight, III to assist a student attending New River Community and Technical College. 

David B. McClung Memorial Scholarship

The David B. McClung Memorial Scholarship is offered by the Greenbrier Valley Dental Society to promote and enable students pursuing careers in the healthcare industry. 

Marlinton Rotary Health Sciences Scholarship

The Marlinton Rotary Health Sciences Scholarship was established to provide assistance to graduating seniors from Pocahontas County High School pursing careers in health care.

McElhenny-Fry-Kirven Scholarship

The McElhenny-Fry-Kirven Scholarship was given to the Greenbrier Community College Foundation, Inc. by Elizabeth Fry and Dupont Kirven Foundation to honor the Reverend John and Mrs. Rebecca Walkup McElhenney, organizers of the Lewisburg Academy in 1812, which is now the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of student achievements and aspirations in academics, leadership, and citizenship, and is not awarded on the basis of financial need.

Horace McGraw Scholarship

The Horace McGraw Scholarship is endowed by Mr. Joe McGraw in memory of his father. 

David and Bertha Moshy Scholarship

The David and Bertha Moshy Scholarship is endowed by Dr. Joseph Moshy in honor of his parents. 

Old Stone Presbyterian Women Scholarship

The Old Stone Presbyterian Women Scholarship was established to assist a student attending classes in the Greenbrier Hall on the campus of New River Community and Technical College. 

Robert Patterson Scholarship

The Robert Patterson Scholarship is endowed by Dr. and Mrs. Kyle F. Fort in honor of Mrs. Fort's father to assist a student attending New River Community and Technical College. 

Donald R. Runyon Scholarship

The Donald R. Runyon Scholarship is endowed by Mrs. Shirley F. Runyon in memory of Donald R. Runyon. 

Elizabeth W. Runyon Scholarship

The Elizabeth W. Runyon Scholarship is endowed by Donald R. and Shirley F. Runyon in memory of Donald L. Runyon's mother to encourage and enable students to pursue careers in health sciences. 

John L. Stewart, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The John L. Stewart, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is endowed by Rosalie Stewart Detch in memory of her brother John L. Stewart to assist a student attending New River Community and Technical College. 

Student Teaching Scholarship

The Student Teaching Scholarship was established by an anonymous donor to assist students during their student teaching semester. 

VietNam Veterans of America Chapter #1072 Scholarship

The VietNam Veterans of America Chapter #1072 Scholarship was established by The Eastern Highlands VVA Chapter #1072 to assist students in its service area with a preference for veterans, children, and grandchildren of VietNam Veterns.

Online Bookstore Open

The Online Bookstore is open.  Students with credit on their account will be able to use their financial aid to purchase books.  If you are using financial aid as your payment method, your username is your student ID number and your password is your six digit birth date.  Contact the Business Office if you need assistance.
