Our Beckley Campus and the administrative offices of the college are located in the Harper Industrial Park in Beckley, easily accessible from Interstate 64. A new clinical skills lab was added in April 2010 to accommodate the popular medical assisting program here. With many evening and online classes, this campus offers many opportunities for students to adjust their course schedules to busy lifestyles. Some weekend classes are even offered exclusively on the Beckley Campus.

Our very popular welding program is housed in a newly renovated training center near the campus. A number of online and distance learning classes provide additional options for students attending the Greenbrier Valley Campus.

Beckley Campus Consolidation
The Beckley Campus has undergone a transformation this summer as part of New River’s consolidation of all Raleigh County operations to the Harper Industrial Park location. On Saturday, June 26, 2010 New River moved all classroom and office equipment from the Public Higher Education Center to 167 Dye Drive, which has been vacated by Bluefield State College. The building is being renovated and painted, new classroom equipment and furniture is being installed, and new signage and canopies are being added to ensure that the campus is inviting and ready to welcome all Raleigh County students this fall. Summer Session II classes are being held at the Beckley Campus location.
New Online Library Resources
The New River Library has recently purchased a number of online databases to provide research tools to the New River educational community. When prompted for a "Library ID" you'll need to provide a password that you can obtain from the Library staff (304-647-6575) or the Help Desk staff (304-929-6725).
On May 21, 2010 we deleted all the Alert System accounts to eliminate the inactive, unvalidated, and duplicate accounts. So you must re-register to receive the emergency notifications. We've also added an optional group for non-emergency College Announcements. Anyone interested in receiving non-urgent College-related announcements may do so by choosing that group when you register. All accounts will automatically expire after 365 days. You may renew or remove your account at any time. As of July 26, 2010 we have 272 active registrations. |
