All prospective students that have not attended college before must take an assessment test for purposes of placement in certain classes. If you are placed in developmental classes, you must complete them before qualifying for enrollment in regular level courses. The tests we accept are:


American College Test (ACT):
The following table shows what classes you may/must take based on your ACT scores. If you took your ACT before 1989, this table does not apply to you and you should see an admissions counselor about placement based on your scores.

Math 1-14 Must take MATH 098 & MATH 099
15-18 Must take MATH 099
19+ May take MATH 101 or MATH 102
21+ May take MATH 109
English 1-17 Must take ENGL 099
18+ ENGL 099 not required
Reading 1-16 Must take ENGL 098
17+ ENGL 098 not required

Stanford Achievement Test (SAT):
The following table shows what classes you may/must take based on your SAT scores. If you took your SAT before 1995, this table does not apply to you and you should see an admissions counselor about placement based on your scores.

410-459 Must take MATH 099
460+ May take MATH 101,MATH 102, or MATH 109
Verbal Below 420 Must take ENGL 098 & ENGL 099
Below 450 Must take ENGL 099
450+ ENGL 098 & ENGL 099 not required

COMPASS Test:
If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, you may take the COMPASS test on campus as a substitute. The full test is $23, payable before you take the test. If you only need to take one section of the test, the Math portion is $12 and the English portion is $19. The following table shows what classes you may/must take based on your COMPASS scores.

    Blackjack Dealer Training is a positive first step toward a future in gaming.  Other classes offered are Roulette, Craps and Three-Card Poker.
