[BECKLEY, W. VA.] New River Community and Technical College is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and each campus is hosting a birthday party as part of the commemoration. The Greenbrier Valley Campus will hold its party on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m. in the student lounge located on the ground floor of Greenbrier Hall, 101 Church Street in Lewisburg, W. Va. The public is invited to drop by and visit with faculty, staff and students and enjoy a piece of birthday cake.
The celebration will continue in the evening as the GVC hosts the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours from 5-7 p.m. Business After Hours is an opportunity to connect with business leaders in the community and showcase their business.

Following that event, the campus will host the Greenbrier Valley Entrepreneurship Café in Hollowell Auditorium from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Café is sponsored by New River, the Greater Greenbrier Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation.
The public is also invited to the inauguration of New River's third president, Dr. L. Marshall Washington, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
New River Community was created by the legislature in 2003, combining the two-year components of Bluefield State College and Glenville State College. As part of the West Virginia Community and Technical College system, it serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from five locations: Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville), Beckley Campus, Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg) and the Advanced Technology Center (Ghent). Administrative offices are located in Beckley.
