NEW RIVER OFFERING NONCREDIT COMPUTER BASICS CLASS

[BECKLEY, W. VA.] It is almost impossible to function in today's business and social environment without some knowledge of computers. To assist those who are still novices, The New River Community and Technical College Office of Workforce Education is offering a six-week noncredit Computer Basics class.

The class will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Beckley Campus, 167 Dye Drive in the Harper Industrial Park, beginning Oct. 15. A New River faculty members will teach the class in one of the college's up-to-date computer labs.

Computer Basics will cover an introduction to Windows 7, web browsing and searching, email and internet security. The class is designed for those with little or no computer experience.

The deadline to apply for spring 2016 graduation is Friday, Nov. 11.  Your application must be in the Registrar’s Office or the Business Office on your campus by this date. Applications are available online or from your advisor. Make sure to see your advisor before submitting your application.
