A Certificate in Applied Science Degree in Esthetics is a branch of the cosmetology program specific to the care of skin and makeup. The Esthetics program consists of 30 credit hours of instruction of both theoretical and practical skill development required for licensure by the West Virginia Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists.

The program requires a 2.0 or higher GPA. This program exceeds the 600 clock hours required by the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists. Licensing or certification exams are independent of graduation requirements.

LPNU Spring 2017 and Winter Session students can now purchase their textbooks online through New River CTC's Bookstore. Book buyback for the fall semester will be held on the Raleigh County Campus Dec. 14 and 15 from 10 am to 6 pm and at the Greenbrier Valley Campus on Dec. 16 from 10 am to 1 pm. Buyback is also available online.
