Welcome to the Nicholas County Campus of New River, located in Summersville in the heart of West Virginia's outdoor adventure country. The campus is the home base for New River's School of Practical Nursing. We offer medical assisting and currently the only campus offering the health information technology program. Our Office of Workforce Education offers an array of continuing and community education classes and provides customized training for business and industry.

Whether you are pursuing a degree or certificate to obtain the skills you need to qualify for a job, or taking general education courses so that you can transfer into a four-year degree program, we invite you to learn about the many ways that we can help you take the next step to success.

Advanced Technology Center

 

Welcome to the Advanced Technology Center located in Ghent, WV. The Center provides a variety of customized workforce development programs and solutions to address the training and human resource needs of employers within the College's designated service area. Workforce Education partners with businesses and agencies throughout the region to deliver programs ranging from sector-driven skills training to community education courses in subjects ranging from beekeeping to web design. Both credit and non-credit programs are provided.

The 93,000 square foot Advanced Technology Center, dedicated in October, 2010, is being used to train workers for 12 key industry segments - mining and energy, weatherization, hospitality and leisure, green buildings systems, manufacturing, line service mechanic, HVAC, CDL, heavy equipment operator, welding and pipe welding, horticulture/landscaping, automotive and diesel technology, and GIS-surveying. The facility also promotes entrepreneurialism and serves as an incubator for business development and acceleration.

Greenbrier Valley Campus

Welcome to the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College. We are pleased that you have shown interest in our College and our campus. While our campus is in Lewisburg, our focus for providing educational services, both to individuals and businesses, is the whole region associated with the Greenbrier Valley. Our service region extends from Snowshoe Resort in the north, to the Town of Peterstown in the south, the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia in the east, and the Town of Hinton in the west. Greenbrier Valley Campus student population includes both citizens of small towns and of the rural countryside. We have the best of all possible settings--small-town art communities, such as Lewisburg, world famous resorts, such as The Greenbrier and Snowshoe--all set among some of the most breath taking panoramic views to be found anywhere in the world. Greenbrier Valley- Student Government Association

 

Our Mission:

The function of the SGA council of New River Community and Technical College is to be a representative body of the students in the decision making process that directly affects students and New River Community and Technical College. The council serves as a link between the college administration and the student body in affairs of general welfare and works to improve student relationships, initiative, self-expression, intercollegiate, community, and school activities at the college. Each member of the SGA shall be responsible for canvassing the student body concerning their preference for social activities and seeking activities to be planned. The SGA Cabinet shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, one Sophomore Representative, and one Freshman Representative per 100 full-time students enrolled.

Accreditation Presentations

Makeup sessions have been scheduled for the three Accreditation Self-Study presentations that were cancelled. They will be Monday, Oct. 13, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Advanced Technology Center; Monday, Oct. 13, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Raleigh County Campus; and Friday, Oct. 17, 2 to 3:30 p.m., Nicholas County Campus.
