The Center for Workforce Education

Whether your objective is to obtain a job, improve your technical skills or just enhance your quality of life, The Center for Workforce Education offers courses, trainings and workshops designed to fit your needs!  Programs are offered under three areas of concentration: workforce education, community education and continuing education.  Whatever your training needs, The Center for Workforce Education has the program for you!

Community Education

Community Educaton courses are designed to help you learn a new hobby, pursue a specific interest or simply brush up on some existing skills.  Course offerings include retirement planning, digital photography, instant piano, and beekeeping, just to name a few.  

Continuing Education

Our Continuing Education courses are designed to provide lifelong learning opportunities in support of New River Community and Technical College's mission.  If you are a supervisor seeking ways to enhance an employee's performance, or if you need to complete continuing education units to fulfill training requirements for your job, these courses will help you accomplish your goal. 

Workforce Education

The classes and programs offered through Workforce Education are designed to enhance and support the mission of the College.  Our goal is to deliver high quality, comprehensive workforce development education and training courses that will ensure a highly skilled workforce.  Looking for a career change?  We have the career and technical training programs for you!


Do you need to update a skill set but don't have the time to sit in class?  Try ed2go!  These courses, completed entirely over the internet, are delivered in an interactive learning environment.  These courses are affordable, fun, fast and convenient.

Advanced Technology Center

The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) works in partnership with the Center for Workforce Education to provide a variety of customized programs to address the need for a highly skilled workforce.  From Line Service Mechanic training to Green Building Technologies, the ATC offers programs to meet your needs.

New River CTC Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters. The Foundation will award nearly $100,000 in scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $5,000.
